Barron provides around 4000 GRE words that you are supposed to remember. But unless you have a photographic memory, remembering 4000 words isn’t an easy task. I was like “Who the heck is going to remember all these words?”. And as always, I tried to find an easier way to remember or rather, help me remember these words. And here’s a very popular and fruitful solution. ANKI is an open source software which helps you remember more easily. By reviewing repeatedly for only those which are difficult, ANKI helps your minimize your time spent on learning and also remember more. Well, what can I say more. With ANKI, learning the 4000 words doesn’t seem that difficult as earlier. So, those who are giving CAT, GRE or whatever; you should definitely try this. Let me know what you feel about it.

And for those who needs a little help in the steps to use it, below are the steps to install and configure ANKI for the GRE words list.
- Download and install ANKI.
- Open ANKI
- Click File -> Download -> Shared Deck
- Type “GRE words” in the search box and download the deck – “GRE words(with examples, antonyms and notes). This one is the best if you are giving GRE.

- Now, load the deck and you are ready to go.
Also, you can always sync your data by creating an anki account so that you can access your deck from any device. Anki has an application for android also with which you can review your desks. Well, I personally like Anki and there are lots of cool stuffs you can do. Find more about it at http://ankisrs.net. Finally, hats off to open source

For a lazy guy like me, having a wireless mouse or remote control for my PC helps a lot. Especially when you are watching a movie and your lazy ass doesn’t want to move, this comes handy. You can use our android touchphone as a wireless mouse or even as a remote control for playing media on your PC. It’s pretty easy to set this up provided you have a wireless router. So, assuming that you have a wireless router with which your phone and PC are both connected, you can setup your wireless mouse/rc with the following steps:-
1. Install gmote app from android market (search for “gmote” in android market from your phone).
2. Download and install gmote server into your PC. http://www.gmote.org/server.(Start the server if not started automatically)
3. Start gmote app from your phone and connect to your PC.
That’s all. Now, you can use your phone as a mouse for your PC or you can use it to choose and play media files from your computer.

I’m just republishing it as it was unpublished some time back. So don’t bother trying to wish me luck. Also, I got a lot of wishes that time and I really appreciate you all. Thanks but I didn’t get it through. Anyway, here’s the original post. (I had to unpublish it as I was trying to crack a couple of other interviews at that time and thought they might not like the post.) BTW, one of the mistakes I made was that the interview was done through some consultants. I really think I should’ve applied from Microsoft’s website. So guys, if you are planning to go to Microsoft, you better get it referred or apply through their website. Don’t get it through a consultant.
I’ve always wanted to join Microsoft – ever since I was like in 8th class, when I first laid my hands on a Windows 95 machine. Microsoft was the first IT company that I was aware of and I’ve always wanted to become a software engineer at Microsoft since that time. And came a long journey until my final year at college, when I was expecting to appear for Microsoft. Unfortunately, Microsoft didn’t come for our batch and it was indeed the year 2009 – where thousands of employees lost their jobs worldwide.
But I’ve been waiting for an opportunity and even though I didn’t have much time to prepare, I think I’m ready to go for my dream Company. Well, I was looking for a job change and it seems luck has favored me till now by giving me this opportunity to give an interview for a position at Microsoft IDC Hyderabad. Microsoft is coming down to Pune tomorrow and I think I’m ready to do this.
I’ve prepared a bit, well, I’ll say – prepared in a short and smarter way and I’m confident that I can do this. Hey, I gotta prepare a little more. And I’ll surely update you guys if I get the position. Wish me luck frens

Out of the thousands of web based proxies available for free, only a few are reliable and good. If you click at the proxies listed at proxy.org, you will find a useful proxy in around 20 proxies. And that single proxy that you found will most probably be overloaded and too slow for browsing your favorite sites like myspace, facebook, etc. This is because, most of the web proxies are hosted on cheap proxy hosting companies where proxies are overloaded. A single server will have some 50-100s of proxies which when overloaded will not only mess up their servers but waste your time. In fact, these proxies are so overloaded that when you try to browse a 50K sized website, it takes minutes. If it was me, I would get frustrated and never visit that proxy site again.

But there are few proxies which are good and reliable. Some of them are daveproxy.uk, ninjacloak.com, etc. Imagine, these proxies have been running for more than 2 years. These are not like the “create a proxy today and discard it next week” type of web proxies. These are considered premium proxies and users are loyal. I would always remember the names of such proxies as if I had to think of a good proxy. Besides, these are free proxies, not like proxify and all. You’ll surely love it once you get your hands on it.
However, these are old proxy sites and must be already blocked by almost 99% of network filters. So, you need a new one but as reliable and good as these. Well, the new one is hideipproxy.com. Hide Ip is only a few weeks old and is still a new proxy which leaves it unaware to many of the network filters. It is fast and not overloaded. It runs on a 1GB dedicated Intel dual core server and has lots of bandwidth to accommodate its users. It supports SSL or secure browsing. And not like those quick proxies which get expired tomorrow, this proxy was created with the same intention as those of the premium proxies mentioned above. So, start using it, tell your friends and share it with everyone as you enjoy the surfing.

If you are looking for a new proxy site which has a speed fast enough so that you don’t have to wait for opening the front page of myspace, if you are looking for a secure proxy which supports SSL/HTTPS mode and support cookies to login into the target website like facebook; if you are looking for something new which hasn’t yet been blocked, and if you are tired of pop-up ads in every page that you open through a web proxy, bypass is the perfect web based proxy for you.
Bypassy.com is a new web based proxy which is based on the proxy script glype. It runs on a dedicated server with pentium 4 CPU and 1GB RAM. It has a high network connectivity of 10 Mbits/sec and has large amount of hard disk space to store your proxy session information and cached data. Bypass proxy is a reliable web proxy which will be active for years. You don’t have to find another proxy for months and enjoy the unrestricted browsing for free. You can browse the web with full anonymity and keeping your privacy protected.
Security is one of the main features of bypassy.com which makes it one of the best web proxies. With bypassy.com, you don’t have to worry about malicious programs like malwares, viruses, trojans etc. into your PC. You can freely browse the web as it filters all suspicious codes and forward only the safe content.
What’s more, everything’s free and still it is one of the fastest and most reliable web proxies on the internet. You can not only use it for browsing but also share it with your friends. Happy browsing..

The Ipod Nano is the latest sensation from Apple. Just a few days ago, a friend of mine bought a new Ipod Nano at Rs.9299/-. After having a look at the Ipod, I was like ‘This is Awesome’. It’s so small and yet so powerful. It catches the eye with its color and style. Never thought an ipod so small like that could capture super quality videos of VGA size. The same quality video is not captured by the costliest mobile phones like N97 and Blackberry. As obvious, the specialty of this new ipod is the video capture and Apple wouldn’t release it if it’s not that impressive. Imagine a street fight/crime captured with this new ipod, it would go unnoticed and yet you will be able to zoom out the faces of the individuals so easily. Well, Apple is famous for their quality and they never let it down.
