Premium gadgets and softwares – All in one multimedia Review

October 30th, 2008By WaikhomSoftware

Well, it is quite a difficult task to find out which softwares and gadgets are best suited for you. If you go ahead to Mozilla and have a look at the addons and plugins available there, you will realize that there are a lot of useless or unimportant plugins over there. And if you are hoping that you can find out the best softwares by yourself, it’s almost impossible because while you are observing a few plugins over there, news softwares will already be released. So, at this field I prefer selected plugins and softwares which are already reviewed by experts and users both. E.g. Gadgetadvisor.com gives a list of best extensions for Firefox after properly reviewing almost all of the Firefox extensions available at Mozilla.

Besides, best Windows software downloads are over there just like the above extensions of Firefox – All observed and tested by experts and customers. Now, what is the benefit of such observed softwares? Well, one thing is that as they are recommended by experts, you don’t have to be afraid of spyware or fraud softwares. And above all, you are not an expert in software evaluation and it’s always a good idea and safe to follow expert’s instructions.

Another interesting software I found over there is from their Blaze Media Pro review which is about an all in one multimedia software. With this all in one multimedia software, you will be able to fulfill all your multimedia needs like music playback, movie editing etc. Now, the most interesting fact is that this is not the end. For any of your needs like hardwares, computer softwares, and tech equipments; you can read the technology news which will not only help you decide for yourself the best choice but also where to buy such items from the online stores.

Configuring Word 2007 to save in word 2003 format (.doc instead of .docx)

July 28th, 2008By WaikhomComputers/Internet,Software

Microsoft word 2007 which comes along with the Office 2007 is much more powerful and attractive than the previous versions. It has many features that just make the old ones incomparable. But one main problem with this new version is that it saves the files written in it in the .docx format. Even though this new format is powerful and has more features, it can’t be opened with the old versions like the word 2003 or 97. And this mainly creates a problem when you create a .docx file with your new office and takes it to a friend’s computer where there is office 2003.

Fortunately, there is an option through which you can save the files in the old format to make it compatible with the older versions of Microsoft Word. A simple way to do is when you save the file, you just choose the “Word 97-2003 Document (.doc)” option which is just below the file name. A small snapshot is shown below.

Another way to solve this problem is to permanently configure your Microsoft Word to save in the old format of Word 97-2003 Document (“.doc). You can do this by choosing the “Word Options” under the top left button of your word 2007 as shown below.

Then clicking the “Save” button on the left of the options window, Choose “Word 97-2003 Document (.doc)” under the options of “Save Files in this format”. Once you are done making these changes, your files will now be automatically saved in the all compatible .doc format.

Measuring the Word count in Microsoft Office 2007

July 25th, 2008By WaikhomComputers/Internet,Software

For years, I have been using the Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Word is the most used toolkit amongst the tools included in the package. Using Microsoft word 2003 was always easy and it helped me correct grammatical errors. One special feature of word 2003 that I used more often is the word count feature which is available on the top menu at “Tools>>Word Count”. This helps me particularly when I was writing a review for some advertiser in one of my blogs although reviews are not written in this particular blog. I used the word count feature to see if the no. of words in my article has reached the minimum word count as specified by the advertiser and it was a great help. :)

A few days before, I installed the Microsoft Office 2007 and I have been using the new package since. The New Office is during quite great and I was very satisfied. But for almost a week, I was not able to see a link or button where I could find the word count as in word 2003. I searched for the button in the top menu and fond none. Finally, I just saw at the bottom left of the word 2007 that the word count is written there. Besides displaying the word count all the time, it also allows you to see the word count of a selected text against the total text in the document. This is how I was confused for a few days looking for the word count. Now, if you are also looking for the word count button in Word 2007, you are just not looking. Just look at the bottom left and you will see the word count like this.
