It’s been around 3 days since the last Google Page Rank Update (I don’t remember exactly). Now, everybody must have seen how the Google page ranks are going these days. Even those sites with thousands of backlinks have a 0 Page Rank and even a simple site with 10 or 20 backlinks has a 3 or 4 Page rank. So, what do you think? Is there a bug in Google’s Page rank algorithm that instead of giving page ranks depending on the backlinks, they are just assigning the Page ranks in some random unknown way? Nope, it’s definitely not a bug and I can assure you a few simple ways to fight against this uncertainty of Google’s Page Rank.

Almost everybody knows some idea on how Google assigns Page Rank to websites. It’s definitely based on the number and quality of backlinks and some other factors. But how come some sites have 0 page rank even though they have thousands of backlinks. The reason is that there are some factors which can let Google blacklist your sites. And those factors are what I’m going to talk about today.

If you can simply avoid these mistakes, I’m sure you will get a Page rank that your site deserves. Now, let’s go to the 5 mistakes that most web developers make in the blind hope that it will increase their page ranks or SERP.

Mistake no. 1: Getting reviewed or linked from blacklisted blogs.
You do this; I’m sure you get a 0 page rank in the next update. I’m not talking about a single blacklisted blog linking to you. I’m talking about hundreds of blacklisted blogs linking to you. This usually happens when you pay a network blogger to post a review of your site in his/her collection of crappy/blacklisted/useless blogs or paying blogger networks like , blogvertise, payu2blog for reviews of your site. Because unknown by many advertisers, there is a mass out there in such sites with thousands of useless, made for money and anti-quality blogs. Many people do this thinking that this will increase their Search Engine Rankings but this will definitely affect your site’s page rank. And the more number of such blogs linking to your site, the more chance you have of getting blacklisted or getting a 0 page rank.

Well, I’m not saying that you shouldn’t advertise on these sites but you should advertise only on quality sites. Paying $100 for a review in a quality blog will do a lot better that getting reviewed by tons of crappy blogs. I mean “Don’t go by quantity. Prefer Quality instead”. Now, “How do I find out whether a blog is blacklisted or not?”. That is a good question and here’s the simple clue – “Does the blog has quality information?”. If the blog is a quality blog writing about useful information rather than pointless reviews of advertisers, then certainly, the blog is not blacklisted. But also see if the Page Rank of the site is 0. If page rank is 0, there is a big chance that the blog is blacklisted unless it is a new blog less than 3 months old. The point is – choose a blog which has a high page rank (check if the blog’s page rank is valid or not at http://www.checkpagerank.net), has quality posts and less number of advertisements.

Mistake no. 2: Very High Outbound Links
Unless your site is a directory or some link related site, linking to too many sites can be a threat for your site’s Page rank. This is not about the total links in your site but the number of links to other sites. This is because if you link to too many sites, Google thinks that you are selling links to other sites or something like and you already know that Google’s not happy with link sales. Having a high outbound links is not a good idea especially for blogs because blogs are not meant to link to other sites, they are meant to give information. So if you have a blog, cut off your outbound links, make it as few as possible.

Mistake no. 3: Having a tag or phrase or disclosure in your site
If your blog is in , you might have already added the disclosure policy. This policy declares that the content in your blog are not always your opinion and may be based on advertiser’s views and ideas. This is where Google kicks your ass. If your blog is not about a useful information but advertiser driven, it doesn’t have a place in Google. Google will definitely give you a 0 Page Rank in the next update if you still have the disclosure unless your site is some big old one like the Daren Rose’s or John Chow’s blog. So, if you are working hard to increase your page rank, it is a good idea to stay away from and that is why I insert an image instead of the word . Even having this word can be a threat.

Mistake no.4: Having very short posts with many links
Many bloggers whom I wouldn’t call bloggers have this habit of writing posts only for money and when they do, they write it so short that it just has the minimum number of words in it as it is required. Google knows it; Google has already taken necessary steps to blacklist such sites. So, keeping your posts lengthy and having lesser links will help you in the long run.

Mistake no.5: Cheating with Google
The biggest reason why Google dominates the other Search Engines is because they deliver quality results in their Search Engine Result Pages. It delivers the most relevant results when you search for a query. And the mystery behind this great Search Engine is its Page Rank. Page Rank is one of the most important factors upon which Google search results are based. So, if you try to increase your page rank or SERP (Search Engine Results Position) by cheating Google, Google will sooner or later detect it and will kick you out when it does.
The point is – Never try to use cheats or deceives to increase your search engine rankings or your page rank or try to deceive your users. Google wants a quality site and will definitely leave you with a bunch of page ranks if your site is useful to the users and if you don’t break rules.

That is because they are arranged in order of real traffic demand and the number on the right is simply an indication of the amount of traffic it gives me. So, the number may vary depending on my google rankings. Anyway, I hope this helps you guys who are interested in earning money from proxy sites. Now that you have known the keywords, you can start your SEO on these keywords directly.

You might know that many people are earning money from their proxy sites but you might not know how? It’s pretty simple and I’m going to tell how so that you could also be one of those who are earning money without doing any hard work. First you got to be ready to invest a little money – for buying a domain name and hosting account.
As I said, it’s pretty simple and I think you will be able to earn good money by reading the steps I’ve written below:

1. Choose a domain name. The domain name doesn’t necessarily need to have the word “proxy” in it. 4. After your proxy site has been built, your last but one task is to put your ads in it. Don’t forget this because without your ads, you won’t earn anything. Now, go to Adsense and sign up the program. You can also sign up for Adbrite because it is one of the best ad network that you can use on the browsed pages. * Adsense ads are NOT to be displayed on the browsed pages *. You can start putting ads to your proxy. You need a little HTML knowledge for that. However, there are many Adsense ready templates for proxy and you can use one of them. All you have to do is change the pub id.
5. Now the final most important part is here – Promote and promote. You got to bring traffic to your site to generate revenue. So, just promote and keep promoting your site. But how do you promote it? If you got a fully promoted proxy site, you can earn about $20 per day ie. $600 monthly. And you can have unlimited domains in your hosting account except the fact that if you have many domains, it will slow down your proxy. 5 proxies is ok for the hosting package given above. Anyway, I hope this helps. And for your goodness, just don’t forget to keep promoting your proxy site because the more you bring traffic, the more you earn. You can buy a domain name in many ways but I’ll tell you one of the easiest ways. I use namecheap.com for buying domains because it is easy to use and reliable. Another place where you can buy domains is godaddy.com but it is not recommended because godaddy can suspend your domain name at any time if any complain for spamming has been registered. Also there are many other websites where you can buy domains but I recommend namecheap especially for beginners. Now, if you are ready to buy a domain from namecheap, just follow the following steps:

1. Go to Namecheap and create a new user account.
2. Then click on the link “Register a domain” and in the search box that comes below, type whatever the domain name that you want to buy.
3. If your domain name is available, reports on the domain availability will be displayed. You can only buy a domain if only it is available. So, if your domain is not available, think of another domain name and when you finally got an available domain, follow the remaining steps.
4. Tick on the domain name that you want and click the button “Add to cart” (below). With that, you will be redirected to a new page.
5. In the next page, there is a coupon system. If you have any coupon, you can apply it here (Namecheap coupons here). Now, you click the standard express button which is on the middle right side of the page.
6. If you are not logged in, you will be asked to log in. And then, you will be redirected to a page where you need to enter your information. Enter the details and click the button “Continue to options” which is located at the bottom left.
7. Now, you can check or uncheck the “whoisguard” facility. If you want to keep your privacy, you should check the button. Then click “Continue to options” again and it will take you to your name server setup page.
8. If you already have a hosting account, enter the name servers of your hosting account here and if not, just leave it and click the “Continue Checkout” button.
9. Then a payment option page will come where you can either choose Paypal or Credit Card as the payment mode. Choose whatever you prefer and then enter the details. In case of Paypal you will be asked to log in first. After you log in just click the “pay” button to finish the registration. After this your registration is complete and the domain name is now yours.

Now, you can enter the name servers of your hosting account and your site will be active in minutes. After that you can start making your website and uploading files through your Cpanel or your FTP Client.

Setting up your hosting account

If you already have a hosting account, you can follow the steps below. If you don’t it’s easy to buy a new hosting account with your domain name as the hostname. Just give the name of your domain during the registration for your hosting account and your hosting account will be configured by your host personals (In case you haven’t pointed the nameservers to your host, you need to change the nameservers too). No9w, if you already have a hosting account and if you want to add a domain as an addon domain, follow the following steps:

1. Point the nameservers of your domain to your hosting account, For more details on nameservers, read the article on “How to change the name server of your domain name?”.
2. Log into your cpanel. In your cpanel homepage, find “Add on Domains” and click it.
3. In the next page, you will be asked to enter the domain name. Just enter the new domain name without “www” eg. “waikhom.com” and enter a password and submit the form.

Then, you are done, Your domain will be active soon. However, it may take from 5 minutes to 24 hours depending on the services that you use. So, be patient and wait for the domain to be active.

On March 14 this year, the Microsoft Corporations visited MANIT Bhopal for recruitment. For many years, the company didn’t come to our college for recruitment and this year, they came suddenly and recruited two students. Though the number of recruitments is quite low, it is quite a good performance from the students because no one was prepared for it and this is the first time Microsoft came in years. The statistics of the recruitment is as follows:

No. of students who cleared First Round: 18
No. of students who cleared 2nd Round: 8
No. of students selected: 2

Well, next year it will be ours and I’ll be working hard for it. As a part of my preparations for the placement, I’ll post some tips about “How to prepare for Microsoft’s Recruitment”.

Its been about 8 months that since I became a blogger and I have been earning more than $500 a month. However, I never stepped into adsense because I thought its difficult. Last month, I started by my first proxy site which has new proxy sites listed in it.
